THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE IDEAS

Kimbwandènde Kia Bunseki Fu-Kiau

ScholarAuthor

Kimbwandènde Kia Bunseki Fu-Kiau (1934–2013) was a Kongo scholar and author whose writing brought Kongo concepts of life, knowledge, social relations and cosmology to an international readership. In African Cosmology of the Bântu-Kôngo: Tying the Spiritual Knot, he presented a philosophical account of the relationships among living beings, community, nature and the invisible dimensions of existence. His books preserve Kongo vocabulary and systems of thought on their own terms, inviting readers to encounter a conceptual world rather than a simplified folklore.
